The Arran Ultra L RCA Grun is our āstatementā OCC copper tonearm cable, created as a true āno compromiseā design to complement the performance of vinyl replay in the finest audio systems.
Arran uses the highest quality ā6Nā (99.99997% purity) elongated-crystal copper manufactured using the OCC (Ohno Continuous Casting) process, ensuring the signal follows a faster, cleaner and more direct path, particularly important in the context of the delicate low-level signals generated by phono cartridges.
With the rejection of RFI as a design priority, the cable is configured as two independently-balanced channels for optimum stereo separation; each is individually shielded in a continuous OFC shielding braid ensuring minimal susceptibility to RF interference and noise.
The unique 3D-printed liner within the Ultra L (Latik) plug reduces the influence of the connector itself to extremely low levels. These cold-weld solder-free connectors further help minimise the material breaks which act as barriers to signal continuity. Both conductor and plug pins are fabricated from the same OCC copper.
The precision-machined Assist 5 pin tonearm plug offers cable entry from either the side (90Ā° right angle entry) or from the base (180Ā° straight entry), please specify when ordering.
The result is a beautifully balanced, natural sound with a very low low noise floor and the widest dynamic range. Listening to music via Arran has a pervasive sense of calm; an extremely high level of detail is apparent, but only as part of a coherent whole, without any sense of artificial emphasis or exaggeration.
